The FOG (Friends of Gwen) livestream hosts in Singapore: Gwen, Amber, Glenda, Emiko and Joanne

A freelance livestream host in Singapore costs about S$17 to S$58 an hour, based on the JobStreet listings live in October 2026, and many roles add a sales commission on top. A full-time in-house host costs about S$2,500 to S$6,500 a month in salary, plus 17% employer CPF. The host is only part of the cost of selling live: you also need a set-up shop, a script, live-only offers and a way to bring viewers into the stream.

How much do livestream hosts charge per hour in Singapore?

Most hourly livestream host roles in Singapore are advertised at S$17 to S$58 an hour. The low end is for part-time hosts reading from a prepared script. The high end is for experienced TikTok live hosts who can carry a stream on their own and already know how to close sales on camera. These are the hourly and part-time host roles listed on JobStreet Singapore in October 2026:

Role (as listed) Advertised pay
Livestream Host S$17 to S$25 an hour
TikTok Live Host / Streamer S$39 to S$58 an hour
Livestream Host S$50 an hour
Part-Time Live Streamer & Content Creator S$800 to S$1,000 a month

What pushes a host’s rate up:

  • A sales record on live. Hosts who can show the sales (GMV) from their past streams charge more than hosts who only have followers.
  • Category knowledge. Skincare, supplements and gadgets need a host who can explain the product without reading notes.
  • Languages. Hosts who can switch between English and Mandarin, or English and Malay, reach more of Singapore’s buyers.
  • Prep time. Product briefings and rehearsals before the stream are often billed as extra hours.

How much does a full-time in-house livestream host cost?

A full-time livestream host in Singapore is advertised at about S$2,500 to S$6,500 a month, depending on seniority and whether the role also covers short-form content. These full-time roles were listed on JobStreet Singapore in October 2026:

Role (as listed) Advertised monthly salary
TikTok Livestreamer (In-House) S$2,500 to S$3,750
Livestream Host & Social Content Creator S$2,700 to S$4,000
TikTok Live Host / Content Creator (Travel & Lifestyle) S$3,000 to S$3,600
Full Time Live Streamer S$4,000 to S$6,000
Senior Wellness Livestreamer & Social Content Creator S$5,000 to S$6,500

Salary is not the full cost. For a Singapore Citizen or PR aged 55 and below, the employer pays 17% CPF on top of wages from 1 January 2026, so a S$3,500 salary costs about S$4,095 a month before equipment, training and leave cover. An in-house host also needs someone to plan the products, offers and schedule, or the streams drift into chatting without selling.

Do livestream hosts in Singapore take commission?

Many do. Hourly host roles in Singapore often add a commission or sales bonus on top of the base rate. Common structures are an hourly rate plus a percentage of the sales made during the stream, or a flat fee per session plus a bonus above an agreed sales target. Before you agree a commission, put three things in writing: the percentage, what counts as a sale (after cancellations and returns), and when it is paid.

Commission also works the other way round on TikTok Shop and Shopee. Affiliate creators can sell your products on their own lives and earn a commission that you set, instead of an hourly fee. On Shopee, only non-seller members of the Shopee Affiliate Program earn commission on live orders.

What else does a live sell cost besides the host?

The host’s fee is usually the smallest part of a live sell that actually makes money. Budget for:

  • Shop setup. A verified TikTok Shop or Shopee store with listings and tracking. TikTok Shop setup usually takes 7 to 14 business days.
  • Platform fees. TikTok Shop keeps roughly 9% to 13% of each order (a category commission plus a 3.27% transaction fee). Shopee keeps roughly 10% to 15% for a regular shop, or 12% to 18.5% on Shopee Mall, before optional programme fees. Any commission you pay affiliate creators comes on top. Check your exact rates in each Seller Centre.
  • Live-only offers. Vouchers, bundles and flash deals give viewers a reason to buy during the stream instead of later.
  • Ads to bring viewers in. A new shop has no audience, so the first lives usually need paid promotion to put the stream in front of the right buyers.
  • Equipment. A phone or camera, lighting, a microphone and a stable connection.
  • A second person behind the stream. Someone has to pin products, answer comments and watch stock while the host sells.

Freelance host, in-house host or livestream agency: which costs less?

A freelance host costs the least per hour, but you do everything else yourself. An in-house host makes sense once you go live several times a week. A livestream agency costs more up front but takes on the shop, the host, the run-of-show, the ads and the reporting, so you pay for sales rather than hours on camera.

At PULSE Digital, we run livestream selling for Singapore brands as a livestream agency: we shortlist hosts who already sell in your category, chosen by their past sales on live, and you approve the pick. On our managed TikTok Shop programme, we guarantee S$20,000+ GMV every 3 months or refund the setup fee.

How do you choose a livestream host who will actually sell?

  1. Ask for sales, not followers. Ask for GMV from past streams in your category, and a screenshot from their seller or affiliate dashboard.
  2. Watch a full replay. Check whether they demonstrate the product, handle questions and call out offers at the right moments.
  3. Run a paid test session. One short stream with your products tells you more than any portfolio.
  4. Check the language fit. Match the host’s languages to your buyers.

Frequently asked questions

Is it cheaper to train my own staff to host?

It can be, if a staff member is comfortable on camera and knows the products well. The hidden cost is time: they still need a script, offers and viewers, and their usual work stops while they are live. Many brands start with an experienced host, learn what sells, then train someone in-house.

Do I need a big following before I hire a livestream host?

No. Viewers for a new shop’s first lives usually come from the host’s own audience and from ads that push the stream to likely buyers. Treat the first three lives as tests and keep the products, offers and timings that sold.

Should I sell live on TikTok Shop or Shopee Live?

It depends on where your buyers are. We compare the two in TikTok Shop vs Shopee Live for Singapore brands.
